Fleming Complete demolished an existing floor slab to allow for the installation of a new 18 inch thick pad, which was required to support a 3,000 gallon liquid nitrogen tank at Comtech’s satellite services plant.
Fleming Complete coordinated all construction phases to ensure a safe installation. The success of the project hinged on the new concrete pad which ultimately could withstand the loads imposed by the liquid nitrogen vessel.
Material engineers performed the required break tests to ensure a 4,000 psi rating on the new concrete pad.
The entire vessel area was enclosed with 8 foot high reinforced block walls, as well as an area of wrought iron fencing and gates.
